A little bit about how I can help you:

Having worked in the architectural and construction industry since 1997 in private practice, health and the house building sector has given me a working knowledge of all aspects of the industry with a focus on good design, value, budget, materials and energy saving measures.
We aim to guide you through both the planning and building process and offer you the guidance and advice that you require from the project's inception to its completion.

Planning
We work with our client to develop a brief of their building requirements and where necessary we liaise with the local authority to understand what their requirements are on a given Planning Application. We aim to work with the local authority rather than against them.

Building Control
A specification and a set of drawings are produced in order for the proposed works to be carried out. This information includes details of materials which are to be used and how they should be installed. Building Regulations cover all the technical and construction details.

Construction
Continuing on from the Building Regulations drawings and specification we can work alongside the contractor to ensure any materials changed from those specified can meet the requirements to satisfy building control. We also aim to work with the contractor to answer any queries and resolve any design details that inevitably arise during construction.

Air Leakage Test

Yesterday we carried out the air pressure test and achieved a rating of 7.44 m3/Hr/m2. The house once finished should achieve a better rating than this but this is plenty good enough to achieve building control sign off.

Week 24 & 25

During the last few weeks the second fix plumbing and electrical have been installed, the second fix carpentry is well under way and the decoration and tiling have started. You will see from the pictures that the air source heat pump is now in place are the solar panels on the roof so the service cupboards are resembling mission control. The air pressure test has been booked for the week before Christmas and the Building Inspector for the first day back after so fingers crossed we should be in early January as I had always hoped.
