Westgate House is moving on fast Second fix is currently
taking place and we aim to occupy the first 8 flats by the end of the year,
this does mean the shared access routes on the ground and first floor along
with the rear entrance and carpark also have to be operational.
A little bit about how I can help you:
Having worked in the architectural and construction industry since 1997 in private practice, health and the house building sector has given me a working knowledge of all aspects of the industry with a focus on good design, value, budget, materials and energy saving measures.
We aim to guide you through both the planning and building process and offer you the guidance and advice that you require from the project's inception to its completion.
Planning
We work with our client to develop a brief of their building requirements and where necessary we liaise with the local authority to understand what their requirements are on a given Planning Application. We aim to work with the local authority rather than against them.
Building Control
A specification and a set of drawings are produced in order for the proposed works to be carried out. This information includes details of materials which are to be used and how they should be installed. Building Regulations cover all the technical and construction details.
Construction
Continuing on from the Building Regulations drawings and specification we can work alongside the contractor to ensure any materials changed from those specified can meet the requirements to satisfy building control. We also aim to work with the contractor to answer any queries and resolve any design details that inevitably arise during construction.

construction of the single story rear and two story side extension for a client

Work is coming on well at Westgate House with first fix
plumbing, ventilation and electrics taking place on the ground floor and the
stud work erected on the first floor to form the party walls to the flats.
We have also been discussing the new Third Floor building
with Kingspan Tek House with a view to starting this building during the
summer.

Westgate House is well and truly underway with the Building
Regulations submitted with Sedgemoor District Council works have started on
site with the digging up of the ground floor and laying of drains. We have also
had the floor insulated and screed laid ready for the internal stud work to be erected
on the ground and first floor. We are also working though sound and insulation
details with Graham Rock Acoustics and AES Southern for thermal to ensure we
better the building regulations.
Also this week we have met with Dimplex to look at their new range of Quantum Electric Radiators to consider using within the finished flats on and Economy 10 tariff.
